MOVE & VALIDATE
Move from existing software or an older Odoo version. Bring the records you need and check the results before the switch.
WHAT WE DELIVER
A migration should leave your team ready to continue working. We review the source and target, prepare the data, rehearse the move and coordinate the final cutover with your business owners.
Review the source software, target version, modules and the records you need to retain.
Map fields, resolve duplicates and agree the approved source files.
Rehearse the transfer and identify mapping or compatibility issues early.
Compare agreed counts, opening balances, stock and active records with their source.
Set the final extract, transaction freeze, approvals and fallback conditions.
Agree access to retained records, user guidance and the support arrangements after the move.
IS THIS THE RIGHT SERVICE?
Review the database, custom apps and target-version compatibility.
Map the required records from authorised source exports.
Clean and structure the records for a new Odoo setup.
THE RESULT OF THE WORK
Each engagement has agreed deliverables and a named owner for the next step.
Plan your migrationOUR APPROACH
Confirm the migration route and data scope.
Clean records and map the source to Odoo.
Run a trial and reconcile the agreed results.
Complete final checks and support the handover.
MAKE THE RESULT PROVABLE
A successful import message is not acceptance. Business owners need evidence that the agreed records arrived correctly.
List systems, files, record types, owners, retention needs and authorised exports.
Define target fields, formats, duplicate rules, transformations and rejected-record handling.
Compare counts, balances, stock and selected records against signed source evidence.
Set the final extract, freeze, downtime, approvals, rollback and read-only history access.
A LITTLE MORE DETAIL
Not always. Full history, selected records or opening balances with an archive are options to assess with your finance and record-retention advisers.
The plan identifies the entry cut-off, any downtime, the approval window and the fallback if the final move cannot proceed.
Include source and target counts, financial control totals, stock quantities, rejected records, selected record samples, explanations for differences and approval by the responsible business owners.
Define a secure, accessible archive with an owner, retention period and retrieval process. Confirm how users will distinguish archived history from live Odoo records after cutover.
We review sample exports, required record types and field mappings before confirming feasibility and scope.
They need a compatibility and licence review. Adaptation and repeat testing may be required.
Finance and operations owners approve agreed reconciliation checks against the source records. An import-success message alone is not acceptance.
A named business owner signs off the readiness checks. The project plan states who can go ahead, pause or revert the move.
The plan should include enough rehearsals to validate mappings, timing and reconciliation before the final cutover. The number depends on source quality, volume and unresolved differences rather than a fixed rule.
They should be recorded, assigned and resolved through a controlled process. Re-import rules must prevent duplicates and preserve the reconciliation evidence used for approval.
